In the name of God Amen I James Emmott of Reavieknow in Collinge in the parish of Kildwicke in the county of Yorke Yeoman: being of sound and perfect mind and memorie praised be God but calling to mind the certaintie and un- certainty of death doe this nine and twentyeth day of January - in the first year of the reigne of our precious Sovereigne Lord George by the grace of God of Greate Brittan, Ffranse and Ireland King defender of the ffaith and Anno Domi: 17l4 make this my last will and testament in manner and fforme ffollowing that is to say ffirst and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and redeemer: having ffull assurance through the merritts of Saviour: to have ffree pardon of all my sins and trans- gressions and to be accounted as one of those to whom the sentense of some yee blessed of my ffather and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you shall be pronounced: and my body to the dust from whence it came to be buried at the discretion of my ffriends and Executors hereafter named: and as touching the dispossession of my messuages houses tenements lands closses peices and parcells of land closses hereditaments chattels cattles debts and all other my personall estate whatsoever which it hath pleased god to blesse me with my will and mind is as ffolloweth;ffirst my will and mind to that all my just debts ffunerall expenses and the probate of this my last will and testament be paid out of my whole goods and parsonall effect by my Executors hereafter named. And also my will and mind is and I doe hereby give and bequeath onto Christopher Emmott my son all that messuage tenement or dwelling house together with one barne and all other buildings garthes and garden to the land belonging and alsoe all the lands closses peices and parcells of land closses comons comon of pasture and hurbary liberties profitts comodities and hereditaments whoever to the same belonging and are situate lyeing and being in Colling aforesaid comonly called and known by the name of Gill Shaw and are now in the possession of Peter Laycock his assigne or assigns. To have and to hold the same and every parte and parcell thereof with the appurtinse into the said Christopher fmmott my son and unto his heirs and assigns for ever. And also my will and mind is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto the said Christopher Emmott my son all that one third part of all the messuage tenement or dwellinghouse barnes buildings garthes gardens lands closses peices and parcells of lands closses ways pathes passages watters watterfourles hedges ditches walls ffenses woods underwoods comons parts of comon: comon pasture and hurbary liberties hereditaments and appurtinses whoever to the said messuage tenement or dwellinghouse belonging (and as the same is now divided) and are situate lyeing and being in Colling aforesaid and in the County of Yorke and are now in the possession of George Emmott his assigne or assigns and comonly called and Known by the name Beckside Tennement To have and to hold the same unto the said Christopher Emmott my son and to his heirs and sssignes for ever. And also ay will and mind is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto James Emmott my grandson (and son of James Emmott my eldest son) all that my messuage tenement or dwellinghouse wherein I now dwell: and all the barnes buildings garthes gardens lands closses peises and parcells of lands closses comons comon of pasture and hurbary liberties ways paths passages watters watterfourlses hedges ditches walls ffenses weeds underwoods hereditaments and appurtinses whatsoever to the said messuage tenement or dwellinghouse belonging and are situate lyeing and being in Colling aforesaid in the County of Yorke and comonly called and Known by the name of Reavie Know and are now in my owne occupation my assigns or assigns: to have and to hold the same unto the said James Emmott my grandson and to his heirs and assigns for ever: Imediatly from and after that he shall attain his ffull age of one and twenty years And also it is my will and mind that if in case it happen that the said James Emmott my said grandson his heires or assignes or any of them or any other person or persons whatsoever shall offer or endeavour to sue molest or trouble or cause to be sued molested or troubled the said Christopher Emmott my son his heirs or assignes or any of thcm: so that he or they or any of them shall not from time to time and att all times for ever hereafter peaceabbly and quietly have hold occupie and enjoy the said ffull third part of the afore- mentioned messuage tenement and dwellinghouse barres buildings lands closes pieces and parcels of lands closes hereditaments and appurtinses called the Beckside Tenement as the same is herein by me given: Then it is will and minde That the said James Emmott my grandson his heires or assignes or which of them As shall at any time sue molest or trouble the said Christopher my son his heirs Or assignes or any of them aforesaid shall pay or cause to be paid unto the said Christopher Emmott my son his heirs or assignes or some of them: The whole and just sume of one hundred and sixty pounds of current money of Great Brittan out of the said messuage tenement or dwellinghouse lands closses barnes buildings lands closes hereditaments and appurtises called Reive-Know upon any disturbance as is abovementioned and not otherwise. And also it is my will and mind that Elizabeth my loving wife and the said Christopher Emmott my said son their heires executors administrators and Assignes and any of them shall have hold occupie possesse and enjoy receive perceive and take the rents issues and yearly profits of the said messuage tenement or dwellinghouse barnes building lands closses hereditaments and appurtises called Reive Know immediately from and after my decease for dureing and untill such time as the said James Emmott my said grandson shal have attained his ffull age of one and twenty yeares and alsoe it is my will and mind and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto the said James Emmott my grandson the whole of such sume of ten pounds of current money of Great Brittan to be paid him by the said Elizabeth my said wife and Christopher Emmott my said son out of the said rents issues and yearely profitts of the said messuage tenement appertinses called Reave Know; when he shall attaine his fful age of one and twenty years: And as touching the dispossession of my worldly goods chattles cattles credit debts and all other my personall estate whatsoever my will and mind is and I this dispose of the same; and that after my just debts ffunerall expenses and probatt of this will be paid I do hereby give and bequeath one ffull third part unto the said Elizabeth my said loving wife; and the other two full parts I do hereby give and bequeath unto Mary my daughter and now wife of George Emmott of Thornton; and lastly revoking and makeing voyd all fformer and other wills by me made of this my last will and testament I doe hereby nominate and appoynt the said Elizabeth my said loveing wife and the said Christopher Emmott my said son: Joynt Executors: hopeing they will see the same lawfully executed and to whom I put the trust of the care edication and the preferment of the said James Emmott my said grandson: in witnesse whereof I the said James Emmott the testator have hereunto sett my hand and seall the day and year first of all within mentioned sealled signed published and declared in the sight and presence of us
